IAC Masteries Overview
I am often asked by prospective coaches, What do I need to do to become a coach? and What do I need to do to become certified?

I created the Salt and Light Leadership Development Institute as a solution to both questions and I basically mirrored the process that I underwent in my journey – for my students.

There are four major components of the certification or equipping process for a coach:

1) Training - Obtaining the skills and best practices that will enable you to guide clients towards their goals, dreams and purposes.

2) Experience - Certification is a recommendation, but not a requirement for coaching.   In fact, most certifying bodies will require you to demonstrate a level of actual experience as a part of your certification process.   Implementing your training immediately is the best reinforcement technique around.   How’s that for on-the-job training!

3) Testing / Certification - Demonstrating through exams, interviews, letters, recorded sessions, etc the level of your coaching proficiency.   There are many levels of certification across the various certification bodies, each with its own set of education, experience and demonstration requirements.

4) Continued Development and Experience -  Here is where you get to practice what you preach.   Learning, growing, and development never ends for coaches or our clients.

Put It and Keep It ‘In Motion’

I chose the International Association of Coaches as my certifying body of myself and my Institute.   For the most current details regarding the requirements for IAC Certification, click here.
