Managing Social Media Campaigns goes well beyond setting up the profile and posting content.   As a business owner you must also manage and monitor your company’s brand, products and your industry.

Some popular tools you can use to monitor and manage your online reputation are:

  • Google Alerts – You can subscribe to this tool which will conduct a comprehensive search through news, blog posts, and other content.   Your alerts can be configured based on broad terms, specific keywords and/or names, industry alerts, etc   You can also determine how often you wish to receive these alerts.
  • Social Mention – A search tool that allows you to input variables and search through the Social Media Universe for matches.
  • Klout – A opt-in tool that allows you to measure your Social Media influence across all of your platforms.   Klout scores companies on a scale of 1 – 100 based on their reach.

Does your business pass the test?

It is an easy test.  One question only.  Are you making a profit?  A business is only viable if it is making a profit.   In fact, that is what a business is created to do.   Find a need, meet the need and make sure that your revenue exceeds your expenses so that the business can stay alive.    Let’s be fair.  If you are a new business owner, your start-up expenses could be blocking your profit-making ability right now, BUT, there should be a viable plan in place for you to make a profit by some set point in the future.   If you are worried right now because you are not making a profit and are not sure if and when your business will do so, Keep Reading…

It is a fact that women business owners are prominent in the game of entrepreneurship and joining at a faster pace than men.  But also true, is the fact that women business owners continue to make less than males.  In fact, less than 30% of women business owners make more than $50,000 annually.   A main culprit of this unbalanced statistic is the lack of knowledge, lack of ability or lack of consistency that exists in businesses, specifically women-owned businesses, when it comes to pricing which ultimately leads to profit.

Read my Examiner Article for some starting points for generating your pricing strategy.    Once you have set your prices and you are comfortable with the prices and the value being exchanged for those prices, be confident in asking for your rates and be consistent in your pricing.
Use the comment section below to provide some of the ways that you create your pricing strategy.

Don’t Go It Alone

dont-go-alone

Many small business owners operate as solopreneurs.   This often means that they are left to make decisions, manage and measure decisions all alone.   This is one of the areas where I miss the Corporate environment.   In that environment, you have the ability to bounce an idea off of others, to hear from different perspectives and also to share tasks and responsibilities.   Just having a listening ear sometimes is enough to help you make better decisions.

The good news is that is not necessary to be alone in your business.  There are many ways that you can incorporate the ideas and guidance of others into your business.   Some of these ways include:

  • MasterMind Groups
  • Accountability Partnering
  • Business Coaching Groups
  • Professional Association Memberships

Each of these examples give you the opportunity to connect with other like-minded individuals who can help you to continue your personal and professional growth and development.   These activities can also enable you to grow your network and gain and give professional endorsements.
Happy Connecting!

Sharing is Caring

If you are looking to market or promote yourself as a resource provider or expert in your field, you need to provide valuable information that supports your claim.   One of the ways to do that is to provide relevant content to your community via your Social Media Profiles.   This gives your community a benefit without the time required for you to research, write, edit and rewrite content.   However, it can be hard to remember to repost information or to save links or articles to share.

There is any easier way to do this – actually there are two.

1) If the page you are on has a Share Bar – use it to share the link through you Social Media profiles.

2) If the page does not have a Share Bar, or if the share bar does not have the Social Media platform you want to use, you can use your own Shareaholic Browser add-on.    Many of us do not use our browsers to their full capacity.   You can customize your browser to shortcut many of your processes – such as sharing.   You can download the Shareaholic add-on to your respective browser here.    Once downloaded, you will be able to automatically link articles to any of your Social Media platforms profiles.

Make your own content viral!   Sharing content does not substitute writing your own content, it is just an enhancement.   For your original content, be sure to make sure that your readers can easily share it with their communities.   There is also a Shareaholic bar that you can install on your blog to promote sharing.   You will also be able to see the number of people that shared, which you can use as a measurement of the type of information your audience finds valuable.

Who knew a skill that you learned in kindergarten could be so beneficial to your business!   Sharing is Caring :-)    Go ahead try it using the Share Bar at the top if this post – Happy Sharing!

Keep Moving Ahead!
